I arted up a Garden Gnome"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ok, I admit it.\u00a0 I bought a garden gnome at a garage sale last summer.\u00a0 Will shook his head, he could not believe I actually paid for it and brought it home.\u00a0 It was, I must also admit, really awful.\u00a0 Made out of resin which had cracked, the paint job on it was an attempt to repair a fading mess.\u00a0 It was dirty and covered in pine needles.\u00a0 And then it sat on our deck all winter because, although I meant to repaint, it I hadn&#8217;t decided quite how&#8230;.yet.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Until today, when it all clicked, out of the blue or pink as you can see.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.summerhouseart.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/gnome-landscape.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3711\" src=\"https:\/\/www.summerhouseart.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/gnome-landscape.jpg\" alt=\"gnome-landscape\" width=\"700\" height=\"524\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.summerhouseart.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/gnome-landscape.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.summerhouseart.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/gnome-landscape-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>OK, I also admit that this inspired paint job was not without a bit of inspiration from another artist.<a href=\"https:\/\/thegoodmachinery.wordpress.com\/2013\/04\/01\/what-i-have-decided-to-do-with-these-pretty-prints\/https:\/\/\">\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 One in Italy, of all places, with a web site called <em>The Good Machinery<\/em>,\u00a0 that I happened to see and of course, Pin, on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pinterest.com\/pin\/532832199637525105\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pinterest<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0And what this artist did with little plastic toys was, I thought, pure genius.\u00a0\u00a0 Well I thought so&#8230;..<\/p>\n<p>So here it is,\u00a0 my garden gnome, inspired by,\u00a0 but after all, <em>totally reinvented and refurbished by me<\/em>.\u00a0 And it was fun too.\u00a0 He did need something to hold and in another inspired moment, I fitted him with a solar garden light.\u00a0 I think he&#8217;s going to fit right in.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.summerhouseart.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/gnome-close-up.jpg\"><img
