As I was amassing this “huge” Santa ornament collection I did manage to find just a few international Santas. Not many, as you can see, just some Father Christmases and Santas from China and Italy. Never did find a St. Nicholas or Sinterklaas from the Netherlands or Holland, where I was born. Today, my photo mission was how to create a setting for Santas from around the world, and here it is, an atlas. And if you look very carefully over the head of China Santa, yup, there it is…..the North Pole! Pretty clever eh?
Although if you start to research a bit, you’ll find that not all Santas stay at the North Pole. Sinterklaas actually comes to Holland on a white horse, accompanied by Swarte Pete (Black Pete) from Spain. But never mind, today we’ll stick with the North Pole.
