4-troubadors

Only 25 days left! I have to admit that I really love Christmas. I love the baking, the decorating, the company, the anticipation of it all.

I probably love decorating and baking for Christmas the most, in that order. The artist side of me just has to have some fun with the decorating. So, a few years ago, as an idea for a little display on the sideboard, I picked up a few really cheap used Santa ornaments at the Thrift Stores. Just a few, maybe 10 or so. And it looked great. A grouping of red and white. So colorful and cheerful.

Now I must admit to having just a bit of a “collecting” problem. There is something about living the “recycled” and sustainable lifestyle that allows it. Because, you see, everything is so cheap and so fun and you really don’t have to feel guilty at all. And that is the only way I can explain the explosion of Santas that I now own. Ok, ok, it’s over 105, we counted last night. But I’ve stopped, really I have…..well almost. Picked up a couple this summer, but hey, they were good ones!

So every Christmas I take down the big collection of Elephant ornaments (that’s another story) and replace it with the Santa’s. Now I have the feeling that all of these cheerful little guys are under appreciated, just a quick glance given to them as people pile through the door. So I thought, why not have some fun on the blog and showcase a few everyday for 25 days from December 1st to the Big Day, the 25th interspersed with my usual posts?

So that’s what I’m planning for the next 25 days, a new photo each day of a group of my Santas. And I’ve got quite a selection. From Grouchy Santas to Gumby Santas to old fashioned and collectible Santas to really awful Santas. So hopefully, you will have a moment to enjoy them as Christmas approaches. Today it’s the Troubadour Santas, a cheerful and musical group. Enjoy!
